—Acts 9:10-22
by: Lisa Moore.
Unlike the demon-possessed man in yesterday’s reading, Saul’s conversion entailed being physically blinded, requiring him to depend on others and to wholly follow the Lord’s guidance. This must have been a humbling experience for the great Saul, but instead of complaining, he obeyed the Lord’s instructions. As a result, his sight was restored, he was baptized, and he learned of the call on his life. Paul immediately proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, confounding the Jews by proving Jesus was the Christ. Saul was a wonderful testimony of God’s transforming power. If the great persecutor of the Christians, could be converted, there is hope for everyone.
