—Romans 8:1-15
Usually, we think of law as restrictive—lines we must never cross. That restriction limits us, keeping us pent up and closed off. Stepping outside the lines is condemning. However, through the salvation of Christ, the Law no longer condemns us. We still follow it because it keeps us safe. But instead of feeling closed off, the Law is a path through a dark wood: we know staying on the path will get us to our destination safely. Though at times we may wander off, through the forgiveness of Christ, we are always able to regain the path.
