The seeds that the Sower planted were the same—it was the soils that were different. We often blame the preachers of the Word for our not being able to learn; but it is really a heart issue. Do we have hard hearts that cannot receive the message? Do we harbor things that make it difficult for the Word to take root? Good soil is just that. The Sower can till the soil and use fertilizers, but if it is not the right soil, it will not produce fruit. No matter the soil type—sandy, clay, silt, or loam—the soil must be pure and ready to receive the seed. When you hear the Word of God, how do you respond? What do you need to change to ensure that the Word is producing fruit in your life?
