—Esther 7:1-10
by: Gabrielle Watt.
It is interesting to watch an individual fall into a trap that they had maliciously set for another person. Job wrote, “As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it” (Job 4:8, NIV). Similar statements are written in Psalm 7:15, Proverbs 26:27, and Ecclesiastes 10:8-9. Haman fell into his own trap and ended up dying on the pole he had set for Mordecai. A lesson can also be learned from Esther. She was wise and tactful in the way she approached her conversation with Ahasuerus . This teaches us that the outcome of a conversation does not solely depend on what is said, but also how it is approached.
