Does God change His mind? Twice now, in this study of God’s faithfulness, we have learned of His burning desire to wipe out sinful people, stopped by the passionate pleas of someone who walkedclosely with Him. Compare the justice of God with the grace of God in these verses. What are the actions He desired to take? What did He actually do? God’s character does not change. He keeps His promises throughout the ages. However, because His covenant is with sinful humans, He lovingly forgave and did not carry out the appropriate punishments. Do you see what future event this was a picture of?
