—Psalm 139:11-18, 23-24
by: Ashea West.
Have you ever played hide-and-seek in the dark? Even after giving your eyes sufficient time to adjust, you still cannot see anything. David knew that nothing could hide him from God’s sovereign eyes. In the most fragile state—such as a fetus being developed in the womb—God sees it all. He formed us before anyone even knew we were alive. Now that we are out in the open, we have nothing to hide from God because He has been there since our conception. And that is why in the last two verses, the psalmist made a request for God to examine him and show him the flaws he still has.
