—Ezekiel 37:15-23
by: Dale Rood.
Ezekiel wrote this following the exile of Judah to Babylon. Imagine the hopelessness of God’s people. The northern kingdom had been deported and essentially obliterated by Assyria years before. Now the southern kingdom, the one through whom the promises of God’s covenant with Abraham would come, was being deported into exile. Into this, Ezekiel brought this incredible message of hope that the two nations, historically separated for so long, would be restored as one. This was on top of the other promises of restoration and of a new Spirit we find in Ezekiel. What hope has our God brought into your hopelessness recently?
