—Acts 10:1-8
by: Dorothy Noel.
Cornelius was a God-fearing man. He respected the Jews and their moral law, gave freely to them, and prayed to God continually. But that was not enough to save him. He had to hear the gospel of salvation and God arranged for that through the vision of the angel. Cornelius’ quick response indicates how strong his faith was. In the same way he would expect the soldiers under him to respond immediately to his commands, so he responded to this command of God. Just as Isaiah 55:6 and Proverbs 3:6 say, those who seek the Lord will find Him, no matter their station in life.
