—1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
by: Dale Rood.
Paul urged his readers to excel in living a life pleasing to God. There are two aspects to this kind of life: 1) things you should not do, and 2) things you should do. Something you should not do is allow your passions to control your interaction with others. Passion can be sexual desire, but it can also be desire for power to take advantage of others or bitterness seeking revenge. The flip side of this, what we should do, is tend to your own business, lead a life that does not require a stage for others to watch, and work to share with others rather than obtain for yourself.
