—Acts 7:2-7
by: Gabrielle Osborn.
We are addicted to instant gratification: on social media, we can gain reward through a quick post; with fast food, we can order and receive food in less than five minutes. In Acts 7:2-7, we are given an example of the patience that God expects from us. Abraham did not receive the title “the Father of Faithfulness” by demanding that God reward him immediately. God told Abraham that his reward would delay 400 years, and yet, Abraham remained faithful. As for us, we are told that we will receive our reward in heaven. Are you being obedient to the patience and faithfulness to which God calls us, or have you become restless, desiring immediate reward?
