—Genesis 9:1-7
by: Dale Rood.
Yesterday we discussed Noah’s God-given purpose, which was defined in very elemental terms. Today we flesh out this purpose. Boundaries were set for how Noah was supposed to live. His dominion over the beasts was defined. It was made clear that even though they were to be available for food, life was to be treated as sacred. The living creatures could be used as food, but the blood was not to be eaten. This began a truth that is pervasive in Scripture and was culminated when the Son of God gave His own lifeblood for the salvation not only of mankind but all creation (see Romans 8:9-21).
