And taking the twelve, he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. For he will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon. And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.” But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.

Jesus told His disciples that the time had come for Him to be taken to Jerusalem so that what was prophesied about Him would be accomplished. He told them that He would be handed over to the Gentiles; that He would be mocked, mistreated, and beaten; He would be killed but on the third day, He would rise again. It is on this resurrection that our belief is established. If Jesus had stayed in the grave, there would be no hope for us (believers) today. Thank God for His Salvation plan. Have you accepted Jesus into your heart? If you have not, let today be your day of salvation.
