“You shall be holy, for I the Lord Your God am holy”(v.2, NKJV). God required holiness from all the children of Israel. Yet seldom do you hear a Christian say, “I am holy.” Why? God outlined to Moses what His people should do to be holy. On close examination we find: keep the Ten Commandments; pay your laborer at the end of the work day; do not make fun of the blind and deaf; leave some of your crops for the poor; offer your offerings freely; show no partiality; be a righteous judge; take no vengeance; and love your neighbor as yourself. Are you holy by these standards? What comfort do you take?
