—John 21:1-14

As I thought about each of the passages for this week, it occurred to me that each passage where Jesus appeared seemed to address some area of our relationship to him. When Mary saw him, she recognized him as Lord and immediately fell and worshipped him. On the road to Emmaus, we were reminded that Jesus is always with us. From Thomas we learned that our faith can’t be based on physical senses but must be felt in our heart. In today’s passage, Jesus provided for the disciples. They returned from what started out to be a disappointing fishing trip with more than their boats could carry. Jesus still provides for us today. When we trust him and follow his leading, he will not only provide for us but he will also bless us in amazing ways.
