—Romans 15:7-13
by: Victoria Shephard.
Christ came to save all people—both Jew and Gentile. Our hope is in a Jewish Messiah who came to redeem all kinds of people, not Jews alone. This is a wonderful passage about non-Jewish people rejoicing and praising the God of Abraham. Indeed, those of us who accept Christ are Abraham’s spiritual descendants (Romans 9:6,8). Paul quoted Isaiah in saying, “In [Christ] will the Gentile hope” (v. 12, ESV). Christ came not for only Jews or Gentiles, but for sinners “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages” (Revelation 7:9, ESV). Let us join together with all those Jesus came to save in praising His name.
