—2 Chronicles 6:1-15
by: Trisha Gerstel.
King Solomon began the process of dedicating the Lord’s temple by showing gratitude for the Lord’s faithfulness toward the entire nation of Israel. In essence, Solomon expressed his thankfulness for the Lord’s very character and being. Solomon recognized that the Lord’s actions—including His love for His people—revolve around His glorious nature. As we read Solomon’s words, both toward the people and in prayer to the Lord, we should consider the reason for his gratitude and ask ourselves, “How often do I praise the Lord for His character? How often do my prayers thank Him for His glorious nature?”
