—Luke 3:7-18
by: Leota Stevens.
My husband is a master woodworker, and he is constantly getting little splinters. Sometimes they travel so far beneath the surface of his skin that he doesn’t even know they are there. These invasive little monsters are a mini-snapshot of sin. Sin also seeks cover in our flesh, and it hides away from The Light so its diabolical work is not exposed. When sin surfaces for public view, its covering is disgusting pride, selfishness, and other equally undesirable manifestations. Repentance and redemption come with recognition of the horrible nature of sin and how it separates us from the presence of the Living God.
