—Psalm 77:11-15
by: Dale Rood.
Yesterday we noted that the psalmist uses remembrance to combat the times of the long, dark night of the soul. Here he goes into more detail about what to remember. Remember the works of God in the past, and let your mind dwell on them (vv. 11-12). Remember the wonders of God from times past (v. 11). Do not only remember them, talk of them (v. 12). Somehow talking of God's goodness helps make it real in the times of trouble. At funerals, grieving families do that when they talk of the happy memories of their departed loved one.
