—John 11:28-37

When Mary heard that Jesus was asking for her she quickly went to see him. Like a child she fell into his arms and poured out her sorrow. Both Mary and Martha knew that if Jesus had been there when Lazarus was sick he wouldn’t have died. Now he was dead and Mary’s grief was so strong that even though Jesus knew he would raise Lazarus from the dead he wept with her. It is the same with us today. When we look to Christ in times of sorrow and grief he shares our burden and we can trust him to see us through them.
