—Psalm 26:1-7
by: Kristin Camenga.
Have you ever been wrongly accused? Maybe someone wouldn't believe your word, or you were caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. What was your reaction? Did you try to prove your position? Or did you quietly take the blame and suffer the consequences? My first reaction is to defend myself, even when I know it is hopeless. These are times when it would be better to let God take care of making it right.
David had the right idea here; he knew that he was blameless and asked God to vindicate him. He knew that God could show him innocent and save him. He knew that he could trust God to do this-and would continue to praise God for what he had already done! How can you follow David's example the next time you are treated unjustly? Can you turn the situation over to God and trust him to deal with it?
