—Hebrews 11:23-31
by: Jennifer Lewis Berg.
The writer of Hebrews knows his audience is familiar with all the great Old Testament heroes. What better way to make his point than to bring up the fabulous stories of those respected champions: the courage of Moses’s parents; the sacrifices of Moses himself; the risks taken by the Israelites, Joshua, and the faithful who toppled the walls of Jericho; and Rahab, an outsider who saw the greatness of God and risked everything to do his will. Can we learn to live by that kind of trust and faith in a great God, a God who will steer us through rough waters?
