Prayer is probably the most important and vital tool we have in seeing change, both in others and ourselves. When we face struggles against our “enemies,” we should pray. Praying for them to change is the most obvious plan of attack, so to speak. But in these situations we must also pray for change within ourselves. God has a plan to use each circumstance to help us grow and further his kingdom. Not everyone will be our friend, but we have an opportunity to touch the life of each person and show God’s love to him or her in a positive way. Through prayer we can allow God to soften our hearts and perhaps we can learn to love those who mistreat us.
