—Luke 4:23-30
by: Leota Stevens.
The people in the home town of Jesus remembered a spindly little boy who played in the sawdust of Joseph’s carpenter shop. Joseph was his father, and everybody knew that he and Mary had really started out on the wrong path in life! How could he address them with such authoritative speech? How dare he point out that God responded to faith rather than circumstances, even faith from people outside the children of Israel! They judged Jesus by their faulty knowledge. Therefore, their conclusions were in error. We need to pay close attention to the truth as revealed in God’s word if we want to walk in wisdom.
