—Judges 6:11-16
by: Susie Sanborn.
It is so intriguing to me how God uses the least of men and women to do His work. In these verses he chose Gideon, whose family was the least of the smallest clan of Israel. Gideon himself was also the youngest. In the same way, God chose Jacob, the conniving younger brother (Genesis 27–33); David, the youngest of eight sons (1 Samuel 16); Ruth (Ruth 1–4), a foreigner who was willing to follow the God of Israel; and Rahab (Joshua 2 and 6), a harlot of Jericho. On the days when you feel like you have no worth in God’s eyes, think again and read the stories of these men and women of faith.
