—Matthew 26:31-35
by: Angie Osborn.
I believe that Peter loved Jesus so much that he could not begin to imagine betraying him. When Peter disagreed with Jesus, I don't think that it was an act of arrogance, but one of shock and utter disbelief-never could he betray his Lord. But Peter was human, and he did. We fall short. I find it mind-boggling to see that God knows that we will continually fall short, that we will betray him. Despite that, he loves us and continues to remain faithful. He is steadfast in his love. Sometimes our betrayal brings discipline, yet his love continues.
