—Psalm 121
by: Leanne Lippincott.
When I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 1999, I was more than a little frightened. It didn’t take long for me to realize that, in spite of the love and concern of family and friends, my true anchor was—and is—God.
The night before my surgery, I climbed into bed as usual. As I laid there in the dark, I envisioned being surrounded by an army of armor-clad angels, ready to defend me from Satan’s mind-piercing arrows of doubt and fear. I also envisioned angels floating above me, their gossamer wings forming a protective canopy. Reassured that I was in God’s capable care, I slept soundly and peacefully.
