—Isaiah 43:14-21
by: Susie Sanborn.
It is so easy to dwell on the past. We love to run past arguments, problems, and irritants through our minds over and over. I find that I can get angry at a person just by remembering old offenses. If I let myself dwell on past hurts I can allow those emotions to consume me. How much better to dwell instead on God’s words in verse nineteen: “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it” (NIV)? If we can continually focus our attention on looking ahead to the newness of God’s plan we will leave the past further behind.
