I come from a family of worriers. Well, at least the women in my family worry. I used to tease my mother about all her worrying, but then I realized I suffer from the same illness. One remedy for worry is hope. If you can find something to hope for, or more specifically someone to hope in, it is more difficult to worry. Lamentations 3:22-23 are good verses for worriers to memorize and carry with us: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (NIV). We worriers can wake up each morning and look for the compassion that the Lord has for us.
