Many people are accused, even convicted, of crimes that they have not committed. In this passage, Jesus stood before the High Priest, accused. The problem was, they couldn't find anything to accuse him of! They made up accusations, but one conflicted with another. They twisted events and things that Jesus said, but again, stories conflicted. The truth is, Jesus stood before them blameless. Yes, he was sentenced to death, but he was blameless, spotless, and pure. As Christians, thanks to Christ's death and resurrection, we too can stand blameless. We can stand blameless before God because our sins have already been atoned for.
