—Psalm 145:8-13a
by: Leanne Lippincott.
These verses tell us a lot about God’s basic character, which hopefully is reflected—at least dimly—in us. “The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love” (v. 8). The psalmist then continues, “The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” Men and women, then and now, are to praise their creator and tell others of his “mighty acts” and the “glorious splendor” of his kingdom.
We’re told that God’s glorious kingdom is “everlasting,” a concept that we mortals find impossible to grasp. It’s difficult to think that anything can go on forever. How can something have no end? But God’s kingdom, like his love, will endure to the end of earthly time and beyond.
