—Proverbs 11:1-5
by: Angie Osborn.
I use the book, Soup (Robert Newton Peck), in my 7th grade literature class. There is an episode where the main characters, boys about 10 years old, sell aluminum foil to the“junk man” to get money for a movie. As the man weighs the ball of foil, he covers his eyes to show that he is “blind justice”. The problem is the boys wound the foil around a pebble. When the man returns with their money, he hands them the pebble too.
God is NOT blind. When we sin, he knows, as did the man whom the boys tried to cheat. In his justice, God included a plan for us to be made right with him. We may cheat, lie or sin against him in many ways, but he is always forgiving. The boys learn the junk man would have given the money if they had asked. God will give to us as well. Will you ask?
