—Psalm 82:1-8
by: Leota Stevens.
Superman was one of my favorite comic book characters. He could dash past locomotives, out-distance speeding bullets, leap over tall buildings, and bend steel in his bare hands. His most defining moment was when he stood proudly in the foreground of the U.S. flag and the announcer proclaimed him to be the champion of “truth, justice and the American way.”
The tight blue body suit and flowing red cape may not be our first choice in daily apparel, but we have been commissioned by the most “Super-one” of all to champion the cause of justice in our own sphere of influence. This passage reveals a number of ways that justice may be served though our interactions with the poor, needy, afflicted, and fatherless.
