—Isaiah 26:1-6
by: Margaret Taylor.
We sing about being clad in salvation's full armor so that we can participate in the battle for truth. Perfect peace is not idyllic inactivity. I recall the childhood tale of the rabbit who challenged the tortoise to a race, and the tortoise won. It was not because he was a better runner but because the odds did not deter him. He was committed to strive steadfastly for the goal. The rabbit, over-confident and assured of his own ability, became careless, distracted and worn out from added activity. He lost his focus, causing him to lose his pride, his prize, and his peace. Don't let the world distract you from God, but keep the peace that passes understanding in Jesus, our strong salvation.
