—Acts 5:27-39

The apostles were told that they needed to stop teaching in Jesus’s name. They chose to be obedient to God, not to men. Did they put themselves at risk? Yes, but they believed that God was in control. Obeying God may not always be an easy task, sometimes, it may not even be the most “fun” option; it is, however, always the right option. God desires for us to be obedient to him. Our heavenly father knows what we need much more than we do. When we are obedient to him, he is able to work through us. He is able to mold us into who he wants us to be. He is able to use us for his glory.
