—Genesis 17:1-8
by: Leota Stevens.
If I had been Abram and I got up one morning in my ninety-ninth year and took a good look in the mirror, I might be more inclined to crawl back into bed than to believe that God was going to make me a new daddy. Thankfully, Abrams’ point of focus came to rest on God’s reliability and not his own human inability. Abram made the right choice in trusting his creator. From that point on, God no longer called him Abram, rather Abraham, the father of many nations.
