—Genesis 24:28-32

Laban greeted Abraham’s servant with a warm heart. Laban opened his home and warmly welcomed the servant in. He could “see” that the servant was a servant of the Lord. When people see you, can they tell whom you serve? As Christians, we are called to live a different lifestyle. As the world around us strives for money and power, we are called to give to others and submit to the Lord. As the world around us becomes more and more bogged down with evil and hatred, we are called to love. As the world around us cries out in desperation, we have hope. Sometimes it is difficult to be Christ’s ambassador on earth. It is easy to get distracted by the things of this world and to be tempted to give in to them. As Christians, however, we should stand out. People should be able to see in our everyday life that we serve the living God—a God of hope and love, a God who is always just.
