—1 Corinthians 15:27-31, 35-44
by: Gem Barton.
Christ is the first fruit of resurrection. If Christ did not rise on the third day, there can be no hope for us believers. He arose triumphantly from the grave so that we can have eternal life—a living hope (1 Peter 1:3). In response to Martha’s disappointment following her brother Lazarus’ death, Jesus told her that He was the resurrection and the life and that those who believe in Him will live even when they die (John 11:25). This is our living hope—that because Jesus conquered death, we will all be raised in the last day to be with Him in glory.
