—Luke 7:36-50
by: Gem Barton.
The host of that household invited Jesus to a meal but did not offer Him water to wash His feet—a common act of hospitality and a sign of respect at that time. The woman who was labeled a sinner washed His feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. This woman brought costly perfume to anoint His feet. Next, Jesus told the parable of the two debtors that had their debts cancelled. Who would love the master more? Of course, it would be the one who had been more indebted. Are you grateful for the sacrifices that Jesus made on your behalf? How do you show your gratitude?
