—Habakkuk 1:12-17
by: Andrea Pozo.
We might find the tone Habakkuk used to talk to God about the injustice he witnessed as disrespectful. “How dare he speak to the Lord like that?” From a different perspective, we may be able to see the closeness of the relationship Habakkuk had with God. He could pray directly from his heart, saying exactly what he felt, even when he thought for a moment that the Lord was not acting swiftly enough against injustice. What do our prayers sound like? Are they beautiful, well-rehearsed monologues or are they open, honest conversations with our beloved Lord—even when the topic might be difficult?
