—1 Thessalonians 5:16-28

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4, KJV). One might not feel like being joyful all the time, but there is always something in the Lord to be joyful about (v.16). The next verse instructs us to be constantly in prayer. This means always having conversation with the Lord. Sometimes this may be audible, but often it is silent thoughts. God can read our minds, so we can always talk to Him in our minds. We must cultivate a way of communicating with God. It may not look the same for everyone. Rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks should not fluctuate because of what is going on in our lives.
