—Isaiah 27:1-6
by: Dale Rood.
What a contrast we find here to Isaiah 5:1-7, the scripture of yesterday! This is filled with hope, not futility, with justification, not condemnation. “Fury is not in Me” (v.4, NKJV). This is not something the vines in the vineyard are doing. It is something God is doing. What the vineyard would not, or should I say could not, do on its own, God was doing through Himself. Again, you can sense the compassionate heart of God for His people. But now, His people responded with the same heartfelt love. And Leviathan, that great troubling serpent who incites rebellion, was sent fleeing to be punished.
