—1 Kings 17:8-16
by: Denovia Mckenzie.
Elijah’s experience of faith shows that God will sometimes use the least expected sources to provide for us. When He does, we cannot help but give Him the glory. The widow had a small portion of food, yet through her faithful obedience, God multiplied her little into much. When God calls us to do what seems impossible, or we need His provision, remember the experience of Elijah and the widow. To our natural eyes, we may see “a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug” but God is the one who brings increase (1 Kings 17: 12 NLT). May we never miss our opportunity to “always [have] enough flour and olive oil” because we refuse to act in faithful obedience.
