—Jonah 4:6-11
by: Michaella Osborn.
It’s heartbreaking to see the hatred that Jonah had toward the Ninevites. Jonah’s hatred was so strong that he had more pity when a plant died than for 120,000 people who were on the verge of facing God’s judgement. But God is always faithful to see the big picture. God’s compassion for the city was so great that He sent a messenger to them even as He was preparing to destroy them. What are some things that we learn about God from this passage? Can you think of a time when God’s plan and your own or His character and your own were as far apart as God’s and Jonah’s in this story? What happened?
