—Judges 2:6-10
by: Jennifer Lewis Berg.
It’s difficult sometimes to remember the wisdom of our parents. As we grow older, distance increases and memory fades. If we’re not careful, we can forget the values and content of what we learned from godly and wise people. Eventually, those who come after us have no knowledge of what held us all together in days gone by. Some may call it sentiment. Others see the value in respecting solid foundations for living. Even God’s people lost sight of what had come before them. As the memories faded with time, God’s purposes and deeds were forgotten.
