—Exodus 4:10-16, 27-31
by: J. Gabriel Alegre.
Moses was full of excuses. For a person who was ‘slow of speech and slow of tongue,’ he surely was quick to make excuses before God. When God has chosen us for a particular task, he also empowers us with the skills needed to succeed—a lesson which Moses himself needed to learn. How often have we neglected to do the will of God simply because we felt we were unable to do it, or live up to the challenge? The devil takes great delight in seeing our lack of faith and doubt. We are reminded that God does not make mistakes. If he has chosen you, then you are indeed the right person for the job. Moses overcame his initial hesitance and excuse making to become one of the most revered and loved leaders of Israel.
