—Luke 22:19-23

Christians hear the words "In remembrance of me" over and over again. They are a part of the communion ceremony. They are displayed in our sanctuaries. Sometimes, we hear those words so frequently that they lose their meaning.
Stop to think for a minute about what those words mean. As we enter into communion, we should do it as an act of worship. Take time to stop and remember. Remember that Christ suffered for our sins. Remember that he died a painful death on the cross. Remember that the shedding of his blood atoned for our sins. Remember that he triumphed over death. Remember that his resurrection holds the promise of eternal life for us. Remember that he gave his all. Remember that he is Lord!
