—1 Chronicles 28:20-21
by: Linda Harris.
“Be strong and courageous.” From Joshua to Hezekiah, God repeated these words. David passed on these words to Solomon, who faced a large task, not only of building the temple, but leading the nation of Israel. Undoubtedly, he had a great example in his father, David.
Fear often grips us when we face a seemingly insurmountable task. However, being courageous does not mean we won’t experience the emotion of fear. Rather, it means we plunge in despite feeling afraid. What causes you to fear? What would happen if you decided to “do it afraid”? What’s the worst that could happen? What is the best? Are you willing to take the risk?
