How, while standing in the face of death, could Jesus say "Father, glorify your name"? Jesus knew that his death would be horrific. He knew what was in store for him; yet he praised God. Jesus could do that because he knew God so intimately. He knew that this was God's plan. He knew that God's plans are never faulty, but always perfect and just. He knew that his death held a greater purpose. Thankfully, he did praise God, and he did trust God, and he did accomplish his greatest purpose. Father, glorify your name! We worship you and thank you for your promises, for your divine plan, for your love, for your forgiveness, and for Jesus Christ, your son!
