—Matthew 26:47-54
by: Angie Osborn.
What a dark moment in the life of Jesus. His friend was betraying him for a few silver coins. He knew that this was only the first step in what would be a very painful time, both physically and emotionally. Yet, look how Jesus responded. He remained steadfast. He was betrayed, but he responded with compassion and forgiveness. He was being unfairly accused, but he was concerned with justice. He was God, yet he humbled himself to be taken to his death by men. In his darkest moment, he was faithful to his Father and true to his nature. He had peace in a time of chaos. God was in control, and Christ left everything in his Father's hands.
