As we pray the Lord's Prayer, we say, ".thy will be done." We say it, but do we mean it? What if the Lord's will doesn't make sense to us? What if it doesn't fit with our plan? In this passage, Jesus prayed ".your will be done." He meant that with all his heart. In that one little phrase, he submitted himself to God's plan. Was it what Jesus wanted at that moment? Probably not. Would he enjoy the part of God's plan he was about to act out? Probably not. Yet, he submitted himself to God's will, knowing that his will is perfect, holy, and just.
